Join self-taught calligrapher, Marie-Claire of Calligraphy by MCW, and learn the art of modern calligraphy for beginners. Experience the joy of trying a new hobby, learn how to write beautifully, send lovely cards and gifts with a personal touch, or take on some DIY wedding stationery.
Indulge in some me-time or bring a friend or family member along, and discover how the simplicity of putting pen to paper and the slow, soothing movement across the page can bring a sense of calm and quiet.
Enjoy the surroundings of the nue ground, who will provide a lovely, calming space, and healthy refreshments as well as tea and coffee.
About the workshop
In this two-hour workshop for beginners, you will learn:
- How to set-up your kit and the tools you need
- The foundations of calligraphy - basic strokes and pressure techniques
- Letter formation and an introduction to word formation
- There will also be a follow-up with additional resources and guidance on learning

- Tickets £65
- The price includes a full calligraphy kit prepared by Marie-Claire which you can keep afterward. The kit includes; a pen holder, nib, ink, practice booklet and guide sheets
- Refreshments are provided including tea/coffee, water and breakfast treats
- The groups are small for an intimate and one-to-one experience throughout, please feel comfortable to come along on your own as it is a great way to meet others with similar interests
- Suitable for complete beginners, or anyone who has tried their hand at calligraphy before and would like a refresh
